About the role:

The Road Policing Enforcement Division (RPED) sits within Road Policing Command, Victoria Police. it plays an important part in the long-term deterrence of dangerous road behaviour through increased speed and red-light offence detection, resulting in infringements. As an enforcement agency, Victoria Police also responds to requests for internal reviews of infringements, and associated matters. RPED is responsible for this function.

Consisting of both VPS and Sworn staff members; RPED issues all Road Safety Camera Infringements, which involves strong engagement with road safety partners and contracted service providers that maintain the traffic camera network.

Your duties will include:

  • Review, process and respond to correspondence relating to infringement offences.
  • Undertake a range of administrative tasks, prepare reports, and ensure that customer service needs are met.
  • Process court requests and undertake brief preparation.
  • Consult with prosecutors, informants, VicRoads, Contracted Service Providers, legal representatives, and members of the public relating to briefs of evidence, infringement notices and court dates.
  • Other administrative duties as required.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • A strong commitment to high quality customer service delivery standards to internal and external customers;
  • A proven ability to work in a team environment as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Flexibility, the abilitiy to prioritise tasks and motivation to achieve common goals;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, both verbally and written;
  • Strong computer skills.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • Four (4) Full time ongoing positions available.
  • Four (4) Part Time 0.50 FTE ongoing positions available.
  • Your usual place of work will be the Traffic Camera Office, 277 William Street, Melbourne, however you may be required to work at any other location within Victoria Police as required.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
  • In accordance with organisational policy, all Victoria Police employees are required to be fully vaccinated (including a booster vaccination) against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exception. As such your employment with Victoria Police is subject to providing evidence of your vaccination status.
