The Role at a Glance

At Metso Outotec the Technology Managers in the Asia Pacific (APA) Minerals Front End Sales team take responsibility for profitable growth of their relevant technology(s) in the Market Area (MA). Responsible for driving Capital Equipment Sales, they lead and manage the business plan for their technology in the APA Minerals Market Area. Working with the Minerals APA Team and the broader MO Organization, the Technology Managers are driven to ensure we win deals in a competitive market by providing value and excellent service to Minerals APA customers. Together we will provide the best value solution and exceptional customer service to our clients in APA. This exciting role is Technology Manager, Stirred Milling & HPGRs and has become available due to internal career progression at Metso Outotec.

The role can be based in Perth or Brisbane.

Stirred Mills & HPGRs at Metso Outotec

Ideal for grinding finer products, stirred mills are known for their energy efficiency, low operating cost and compact design, reducing floor space requirements. Metso Outotec offers a wide portfolio of stirred milling technologies: Vertimill®, HIGmill™, and Stirred Media Detritor (SMD). The Metso Outotec HRC™e high pressure grinding rolls (HPGR) is evolving the industry standard for grinding efficiency. Using innovative technology of flanges and an anti-skew assembly, the HRC™e HPGR brings an energy efficient and high throughput solution while reducing operational costs.

Responsibilities

• Profitable growth of the Stirred Mill & HPGR business and maximization of market share

• Manage and maintain customer relationships in Asia Pacific specifc to Capital minerals project investment at a senior management level

• Capex and Services business lead generation. Capex sales funnel management and prioritization of sales cases through Salesforce

• Assemble bid teams, generate and maintain sales plans

• Active and visible presence in the market-place including technical presentations at conferences​​​​​

• ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitors 

• Input into strategic direction for Stirred Milling & HPGRs by leading and managing the Business Plan for the Market Area.

To Succeed

• Min. 10 years’ experience in the mining industry

• Proven business and industry understanding

• Strong technical understanding of the technologies

• A track record in developing sales opportunities and closing deals

• Customer mindset

• Strategy formulation for winning deals

• Strong academic background in technical/engineering disciplines

• Ability to effectively work with others in a matrix organization from a range of cultures within a diverse political, technical and social environment

• Regular travel as required.
