Position Location: Sydney or Brisbane

Reports to: Support Manager, Life Sciences Group, ANZ

Discover Impactful Work:

As a Field Application Scientist for Flow Cytometry & Cell Sorting, you will partner with our customer through the adoption and use of our protein and cell analysis instrument portfolio. With an emphasis on our Attune NxT Flow Cytometer, CytPix Flow Cytometer as well as our new Bigfoot cell sorter, you will support the business growth by creating demand, accelerating sales and building market share.

A day in the Life:

  • Perform product demonstrations at customer or company sites.
  • Prepare and present seminars to wide array of audiences.
  • Deliver comprehensive technical training for customers and colleagues.
  • Collaborates with Sales Representatives to develop technical selling strategies.
  • Accompanies Sales Representatives on customer calls.
  • Provides ongoing onsite or remote application and instrument support.
  • Keys to Success:

    Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree ( in science.
  • Completion of an advanced degree (MSc, PhD) in molecular biology or immunology is preferred.
  • Experience

  • Broad experience in the operation of flow cytometer and cell sorter
  • Small Particle Flow Cytometry, highly desirable
  • Spectral Flow Cytometry
  • Experience in different flow cytometry analysis programs such as FCS Express and Flow Jo
  • Experience/knowledge in large panel design for traditional and spectral flow cytometry
  • Cell separation, isolation techniques
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Excellent scientific skills in the areas of Sample Preparation, data acquisition and analysis
  • Teaching experience, highly desirable – supervision of students, mentoring, instrument training
  • Outstanding communication skill / ability to present to diverse audiences
  • Ability to work well across diverse teams
  • Outstanding observation & troubleshooting skills
  • Able to work with minimal direction while maintaining focus and productivity
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Additional Requirements / Work Environment

  • Ability to travel within the territory to carry out primary responsibilities.
  • Proficient in English (oral and written)
  • Valid driving permit required
  • Adhere to OHS policies and procedures and ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment
  • Adhere to the Chain of Responsibility obligations under the Australian Heavy Vehicle National Law
