About the role

The Housing Taskforce was established in response to the widespread displacement of disaster affected people caused by the unprecedented floods of March 2022 on the NSW North Coast. The Taskforce leads the implementation of medium term accommodation options, including through the establishment of temporary housing sites and the delivery of accommodation programs on private properties.

We are looking for a results driven Manager, Communications & Engagement who has the passion to drive corporate and community engagement objectives and initiatives to join the NSW Reconstruction Authority Team. This role will require you to take a lead role of the internal engagement agenda and channels whilst working collaboratively with Division and Agency stakeholders as well as the Executive Leadership Team.

What do I need?

The successful candidate will have exceptional communication and project management skills to be able to adapt and manage competing priorities from various stakeholders. You will have demonstrated knowledge of current agency programs, policies and developments and have the capacity to be across an extensive range of government strategies and announcements. Strong engagement skills are required for this role to build solid working relationships with stakeholders to drive high quality community engagement and secure buy-in to rapid temporary housing programs across the state.

You will also meet the following essential requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

  • An ability and willingness to travel within NSW and support other operational roles during disasters, emergencies and other events, consistent with skills, background and personal circumstances.

  • Current unrestricted NSW drivers’ licence
