Why this role matters

The Salvation Army Australia’s Homelessness Stream provides high quality, person-centred services to people at risk, and or experiencing homelessness. We support adults and families, including accompanying children with accommodation, case management, outreach support, financial assistance, connection and referral to other specialist services.

Graceville Women’s Refuge provides short-medium term accommodation for women with (or without) children who are fleeing family violence or experiencing homelessness as a result of family violence. Split into two wings, Nunyara has 6 units for single women and Byanda has 6 units for women and children

About the role

We are seeking a values-driven and dedicated Cleaner to maintain the cleanliness of our Graceville units and public communal areas.

You will successfully

• Maintain the cleanliness of the Graceville units, rooms and public communal areas according to appropriate health standards.
• Keep rooms and units cleaned when vacated including floors, toilets, bathrooms, spot cleaning walls and disinfecting surfaces
• Regularly check and maintain equipment including washing machines, dryers, vacuum cleaners, etc
• Ensure safe disposal of cleaning supplies and chemicals
• Adopt a “best practice’ approach with reporting, WHS and Duty of Care

This position is permanent part-time 15 hours per week, based in Northbridge. Salary and conditions are in accordance with the SACS WA Lvl 2 – Comm Srvcs Wkr 2.

You will have

• Cleaning experience
• Knowledge of Work, Health & Safety practices
• Willing to learn Safe food handling practices for basic catering
• A valid Working with Children’s check
• A WA Drivers licence
• A willingness to undergo a National Police check
