Specialty And Emergency Veterinary Nursing Assistant – Arh Homebush

Job Description

This ever growing hospital requires an experienced nursing assistant. The successful candidate would be energetic, poses enthusiasm and be experienced in animal attending. You should be able to work a flexible shared roster and be working amongst the team of Specialists, Veterinarians, Veterinary Nurses, Nurse Assistants and Veterinary Customer Care Representative’s.  A strong work ethic and positive attitude is a must as is the ability to multitask and to demonstrate initiative. We are looking for someone to join our team in a Full-time or part-time capacity.
  
Nurse Assistant duties include but are not limited to:

• Animal handling, feeding and cleaning
• General cleaning and hospital grade cleaning
• Stock control
• Assisting nurses and veterinarians in our Critical Care Unit.
• Training provided and ongoing training and support within a friendly working environment.

About You
  
As a successful candidate, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
 

• Certificate II (or equivalent) in Animal Studies
• Minimum 2 years of paid work in the Companion Animal Industry
• A strong work ethic and enjoy working as part of a team
• Commitment to gold standard patient care and a “fear-free” approach to patient handling
• The confidence and initiative to work autonomously yet lean on your team as needed
• Ability to multi-task and navigate within a busy, multi-departmental workplace
• A passion for excellent customer service and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Exemplary organisational skills and a high attention to detail
• The ability to work Evenings and Overnight shifts within our Critical Care Unit.
