The opportunity:

We’re in an exciting period of growth and have the opportunity for an experienced professional to join us as Head of Retail Propositions, Optimisation and Delivery at AIA. Reporting to the GM Retail Distribution, the successful applicant will assist in setting the Retail distribution strategy to retain and grow our portfolio, as well as develop and optimise AIA’s Retail proposition through its strategic partnerships and delivery via its client development team. This role can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney and is a great opportunity for someone with extensive experience in insurance or financial services.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • By leveraging data and insights, grow and maximise the existing portfolio of Advisers, Licensees, Platforms, Aggregators and Partners across the Retail distribution portfolio
  • Manage key licensee accounts and forward facing propositions
  • Develop and deliver an effective business planning and prioritisation process to facilitate and execute on the Retail Distribution strategy
  • Manage and innovate the retail insurance proposition, both new and Inforce
  • Work with the Retail Distribution leadership team, partners, customers, and research agencies to deliver a superior customer experience, ensuring we simplify the insurance journey for our customers
  • Lead the development of education and technical training plans, for both staff and adviser, licensee facilitation
  • Own, manage and execute the distribution capability framework that improves and uplifts the capability of distribution team members
  • Follow a robust framework to prioritise new and existing propositions for inclusion in AIA strategic partners business plans and ensure that realistic delivery plans are developed.

Successful applications will have:

  • Extensive Life Insurance experience with a deep understanding of the financial services industry
  • Previous experience in the delivering of propositions across distribution
  • A deep understanding of customer needs, behaviours, and preferences particularly in regards to Life Insurance
  • The ability to interpret a changing regulatory environment and resulting impacts
  • Strong project delivery experience, negotiation skills and commercial acumen
  • Strong data and analytical skills particularly within forecasting and insights
  • Strong leadership experience with excellent presentation & communication skills
  • The ability to liaise with and influence key stakeholders at all levels of AIA
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of insurance risk management principles
