    About the Position

    The Animal Compliance Investigator is a new position identifiedwithin the review of Ranger Services. The role will ensure ongoinganimal compliance by overseeing and investigating unregisteredanimals residing within the City. 

    This is a non-rostered role, meaning that the role typicallyworks Monday – Friday with only occasional weekend work atcommunity events required.

    Reporting directly to the Ranger Services Manager, the positionwill lead compliance investigations, coordinate inspections withthe City’s Rangers and oversee administrative and impoundduties.

    Public education is a big part of our Team’s vision tocreate opportunities for community and pets to live peacefullyin a safe environment, as such, the role will take a leadingrole in developing public education campaigns about responsibleanimal ownership.

    About You

    The role does not require someone with a Ranger’sbackground, but a keen eye for detail, and strong communicationskills is essential.

    On a daily bases the investigator will need to use a suite ofMicrosoft based products and internal business systems, so you willneed to be savvy with technology and experience in sendingwell-written and concise correspondence.

    You will have a Drivers Licence (C), First Aid certificate, andthe ability to undertake, Periodic Police Clearances (updatedevery 1 year)

    The role’s essential criteria is;

  • Advanced problem solving, investigation skills, conflict resolution, and negotiation and conciliation skills.
  • Use of Microsoft suite software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and time management skills
  • Experience in animal handling
  • Understating of Occupational Safety & Health principals and responsibilities.
  • Sound knowledge of investigative techniques and procedures.
