The Department of Education is excited to offer an opportunity to join our HR Consulting team in providing high quality and efficient HR advice and services. This is a time of growth for the HR team. The need for our recruitment and payroll services is increasing across the department and multiple positions are available for both ongoing and fixed term.

The HR Consultant role sits within the People Services branch, which is going through some exciting changes to the way we operate and deliver quality HR services and advice to our clients. This is a detail focussed role where you support a designated client group.

About the Role

Working within a team of HR Consultants, the positions provide operational support for either recruitment or payroll across the Department’s Corporate and Regional client groups in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, you will liaise with and support internal clients for recruitment services from advertising a position vacant to onboarding the successful candidate. Or, payroll services throughout the employee lifecycle. You will consult with clients on their general HR needs supported by policy.

  • Demonstrated work experience in a recruitment operational service delivery environment.
  • Understanding of HR functions and best practice and a desire to learn is essential.
  • Ability to be responsive and enjoy working in a high volume team environment.
  • Strong customer service and communication focused on positive outcomes.
  • Pro-active and take responsibility in identifying and proposing workable solutions to issues.
