Clinical Nurse Educator

Scrub/Scout (Temporary Position)

Mount Hospital

  • Part time (temporary position – 3 months)
  • Lead and teach in central city location with free parking.

About the role

We are seeking a Scrub/Scout Nurse to work in collaboration with the Clinical Nurse Educator and Perioperative Services Management Team, providing hands on educational support and clinical teaching/facilitation to staff, graduates and students.

You will promote a high standard of evidence based nursing through dissemination of current best practice knowledge, and will be responsible for meeting the educational requirements of the department in alignment with ACORN and national healthcare standards.

A highly motivated and proactive individual you will have extensive clinical skills with a vast knowledge base in scrub/scout nursing, combined with a passion for teaching others.

Essential selection criteria:

  • Current Registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in the Operating Suite in an Scrub/Scout Nursing capacity
  • A strong commitment to professional development
  • Dedicated to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and build effective relationships with nursing and medical teams
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written) in teaching and developing staff
  • Ability to objectively evaluate and assess learning needs and outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver hands-on practical education
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Computer literate including MS office and data applications
  • Working with Children check

Desirable Criteria:

  • Post graduate certification in Perioperative Nursing, Education and/or progression towards
  • Certificate in workplace assessment and training
