Junior Operations Clerk at People in Focus (Sydney)

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work for a premier shipping agency and customs brokerage located in Sydney’s North West. Due to continued growth the company is seeking a junior to join the import & customs operations team – while training will be provided, the ideal candidate will have some understanding of international freight/logistics, eg from prior studies or overseas internship etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Job registration

Documentation processing, , arrival notice

EDO processing including payments via cheque & compay

Monitoring cargo status and availability

Arrange cartage

Liaise with shipping lines, co-loaders, depots, airlines, overseas agents, suppliers and internal staff to ensure the professional movement of all shipments

Qualities required for the role:

Prior understanding of international freight would be advantageous

Computer proficiency in MS Office products

Accurate data entry skills

Genuine desire to develop a career in Freight Forwarding

Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal

Confident & friendly manner

Strong attention to detail

Ability to work unsupervised

Able to prioritise and meet deadlines
