Systems Engineer

As a Systems Engineer you will be key in our future transition to Cloud in the next 12 months, providing guidance for transitioning of the support team.

Working closely with the clients support team to ensure operational uptime, service improvement, implementation of appropriate policies and procedures whilst adhering to ITIL best practices.

Responsibilities:

Communicates progress, issues and pro-actively mitigate risks in the environment

Coordinating system changes, updates, firmware patching and high severity incidents whilst adhering to ITIL standards

Proactive maintenance and deployment of Citrix infrastructure

Primary point of contact for Citrix VDI incident resolution and service request fulfillment

Contribute to the design and implementation of Cloud infrastructure and Cloud-based applications that meet industry standards and security requirements

Take a lead role in the transition of existing infrastructure into the cloud and the design of the ongoing support processes and procedures

Mentoring junior staff, creating and maintaining SOP documents

Provide technical advice and service on the use and applications of systems and related products

Participate in after hours on-call roster and able to work outside of standard business hours (as required)

Promote knowledge sharing, creation of documentation and training for the broader support team on cloud transition and support

Maintaining continual service improvement to the customer and organization service management

Supporting 24×7 High availability civil and law enforcement infrastructure

Able to work in a fast paced & dynamic environment, handling complex incidents with professionalism

Ability to work autonomously in a small team environment

Required Experience:

5-7 years’ experience in a similar role working with Australian Government agencies in ITIL environments

Citrix Certified Professional

VMware Certified Professional

ITIL v4 foundation

Experience managing Infrastructure, Virtual and Wintel technologies

Citrix ADC, ADM and VDI

VMware VCF/ESXi/vSphere

Wintel, Azure, SCCM, DNS, AD, Group Policy

Scripting ability background PowerShell, Bash or Java

Experience ITSM tools such as Service Now or similar

Cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure

Knowledge of network protocols and administration (F5, Cisco, FortiGate)

Infrastructure, Veeam, NetApp and backup solutions

Knowledge of ISM compliance and cyber security practices

Application support with COTS or in-house products
