About the Role 
Swinburne University has an exciting opportunity for a passionate Senior Research Fellow to join the team of the Iverson Health Innovation Research Institute. This identified position will provide an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander graduate the opportunity to advance their career in health-related research from medical, nursing, public health, or physiology through to bioengineering, data science and digital health. 

In addition to your research contributing to Swinburne’s broader research activities and mentoring programs, you will assist with establishing and implementing an Indigenous research strategy across the university and strengthen the work of the Moondani Toombadool Centre and the National Centre of Reconciliation Practice.

Ideally you will have experience in leading research funding processes through internal and external grant schemes and external funding opportunities. You will have excellent written and verbal communications skills and will be expected to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team, as well as coach and mentor other emerging academics.

About You  
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

  • Conduct high quality research, working closely across teams and Centres to combine knowledge and develop original project-based research.
  • Identify and promote collaborative research opportunities and contribute to the development of initiatives designed to enhance such links, including participating in the development of industry and competitive research grants  
  • Actively contribute towards areas of research concentration in the relevant institutes.
  • Supervise/contribute to the supervision of post graduate research projects and PhDs  


Qualifications
An earned doctoral qualification in a field related to the work of one of the University’s five Research Institutes.
