About the role

WesTrac has a fantastic career opportunity for an experienced Sales Manager to join our team based at our Casula Branch.  

Reporting to the Heavy Construction Business Manager, the Sales Manager – Heavy Construction is responsible for the effective management of sales of all new and used heavy construction equipment, achieving required market share and forecasting of sales for a designated territory.

The primary focus of the role is to provide leadership, coaching, employee development and process discipline to the Heavy Construction sales team for the region, ensuring best practice and sales excellence is achieved.

This position will see the successful candidate working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Management of the Heavy Construction Sales Team including communicating departmental objectives, setting clear KPI’s and performance management.
  • Develop and action Territory and Customer plans with the Sales Representatives to ensure overall company objectives are met.
  • Extensive experience with CRM and other management tools.
  • Build and maintain successful relationships with customers and internal stakeholders to ensure ongoing opportunity identification.
  • Remain informed of current industry and market trends to ensure commercially sound machine offerings are made.
  • Manage the Gross Profit and Margin for all new and used sales.

Skills & Experience

  • Mechanical Trade qualification with post trade experience
  • Strong sales experience coupled with supervisory experience within the construction, mining or earthmoving industry
  • Advanced communication, negotiation, decision making and influencing skills
  • Excellence customer service skills with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders
  • Ability to work well autonomously and within a team
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence with the ability and willingness to travel
  • Advanced computer literacy skills (MS Office Suite)
  • Ability to analyse data and compile reports
