Overview:

  • Full-time, Fixed Term position for 2 years

  • Salary Academic Level B.1 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

About You
As the Research Fellow, you will be employed as part of CloudTech RMIT Green Bitcoin Joint Research Program jointly supported by the CloudTech Group and RMIT. You will take the major responsibility to design, implement, and test the new generation of green consensus protocols for large-scale green cryptocurrency platforms, engage with customers and external stakeholders and mentor higher degree by research (HDR) candidates.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have the following Key Selection Criteria:

  • Extensive research and/or industry experience of consensus algorithms, blockchains and/or other distributed systems design, implementation and testing.

  • Emerging track record and recognition for quality research outputs in the areas of blockchains and distributed systems, development of new research initiatives, competitive research funding, and industry links.

  • A strong work ethic, and the ability to work well independently, and as a member of a broader team, including with industrial partners

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and/or supervise higher degree by research candidates.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry, together with a strong commitment to teamwork and multidisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications:

A PhD degree in Computer Science related field is required.

The School of Computing Technologies is a centre for digital innovation, world class research, and education in STEM via streamlined collaboration across relevant disciplines.
