The Role You Could Play:

Our MakeUp portfolio of brands is our largest portfolio, and it is growing ahead of the market with more and more amazing brands joining our business. To support this growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Category Manager, which at MECCA we call a Brand Manager, to join the MECCA Brands Merchandise team in a role that is dynamic, fast-paced and is central to our business.

As a Brand Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and building our MakeUp portfolio in the Australian and New Zealand markets, including planning and maximising new product launches, driving core product performance, identifying new customer or commercial opportunities, in addition to deepening the relationship with our brands.

These roles are integral to the continued, long term success of MECCA and includes responsibilities such as:

  • Building annual brand and category plans based on performance and market insights
  • Manage and maintain strong business relationships with new and existing brands in MECCA’s portfolio
  • Act as a MECCA Brands ambassador and local affiliate for each brand
  • Monitor, analyse and communicate brand performance
  • Report on performance of brand initiatives such as international visitors and Beauty Loop sampling
  • Manage Sales, COGS and Commercial Performance of Brand Portfolio vs budgets as well as brand level P&L
  • Successfully deliver launch plans across the business through promotion and marketing planning processes to ensure priority launches are aligned with rest of business
  • Work closely with and effectively manage internal stakeholders to support go to market initiatives, such as monthly retail promotions and digital activations
  • Play an active role in coaching an Assistant Brand Manager, enhancing their skills and ensuring category success
  • What You Will Bring:

    There is no doubt that extensive prior account/category and brand management experience in finished goods, and a passion for our customers is an absolute must for anyone in this role.

    You will also be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Developed and implemented category and brand strategies to ensure long-term and lasting growth
  • Driven long-term change, effectively influencing senior stakeholders and/or brand founders, and engaging others on the journey
  • Well-honed rapport-building and interpersonal skills as a master relationship-builder with leading global brands
  • Commercially astute and experienced in owning and driving P&L efficiencies
  • A strong negotiator of outcomes to benefit all parties and deliver commercially on all sides
  • Extensively worked collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Operations, Digital, and Finance
