The Role

Are you a vibrant, proactive and inventive communication expert, with a strong virtual and in person presence. Our talented Project Assurance, Capability and Quality team, within City Projects Office is looking for you. 

The Senior Strategy and Content Officer, designs, develops, delivers and evaluates communication and event activities for Brisbane City Council’s Project Management Centre of Excellence (PMCOE) and the Project Assurance, Capability and Quality (PACQ) team. 

In this role you will manage a broad range of internal communication channels for the Project Management Centre of Excellence, including developing newsletters, podcasts, and process updates, developing, updating, and maintaining intranet pages and organising virtual and face-to-face community and social engagement. 

The role supports the implementation of the PMCOE’s Communications and Engagement Strategy to deliver high-quality internal communications. You will also be responsible for contributing to a broad range of cultural, process and system improvements and leadership strategies that enhance capability and organisational culture within City Projects Office Branch. 

To be successful in this role you will have: 

  • thorough knowledge of contemporary communication issues and trends 
  • excellent stakeholder engagement and customer-centric approach to delivery outcomes 
  • ability to provide specialist advice and assistance in the design and development of communication strategies 
  • experience in designing, producing, and editing digital media such as videos, recordings, and photos 
  • experience liaising with industry bodies to produce events and workshops 
  • strong written and verbal communication skills, including researching, writing, editing, proofreading and presentation skills
  • highly proactive with an ability to respond quickly to emerging issues that impact your stakeholder group 
  • ability to identify and highlight risks around communications while considering environmental and organisational issues which may impact those risks 
  • be innovative and forward thinking while considerate of established corporate structures and hierarchies.
