Who are we looking for?

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Research Fellow (Superconductivity /Machine Learning) to join School of Electrical Engineering and Robotics, Faculty of Engineering, Academic Division.

We are seeking a Research Fellow to conduct research into advanced techniques that explore how machine learning methods, including traditional non-deep learning methods, unsupervised deep learning, physics-informed deep learning models, and transfer learning/domain adaptation, can be applied to superconductor applications. The Research Fellow will contribute to the research agenda of the Faculty of Engineering through undertaking research connected to existing defence projects at the nexus of superconductor research and machine learning, and related funding.

What you need to succeed

You will also be an active researcher with an exciting and developing research profile that strives to create impact and change and contributes to cutting edge knowledge.  

You will demonstrate:

  1. Completion of a PhD in a relevant discipline preferably in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Computer Vision (CV) or Signal Processing. 
  2. Experience and research track record in Machine Learning, with experience in one or more of unsupervised deep learning, physics-informed deep learning, or transfer learning/domain adaptation. 
  3. Demonstrated ability to undertake high-quality research via publication in top tier conferences/journals in AI, CV, ML. 
  4. Demonstrated written communication skills, including the ability to maintain accurate records, and experience in summarising scientific data in reports. 
  5. Demonstrated experience in all aspects of the research process, including ethical standards in research confidentiality and an ability to protect intellectual property.

Remuneration:  AUD$87,917 to AUD$119,296 pa (LEVA). Which is inclusive of an annual salary range of AUD$74,291 to AUD$100,806 pa, 17% superannuation and leave loading.
