JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a passionate and reliable Demi Chef to join our diverse and fast paced kitchen operations on a Full Time basis at Novotel Surfers Paradise https://www.novotelsurfersparadise.com.au/

The role

As a Demi Chef in the Hotel’s kitchen brigade you’ll be responsible for assisting in the effective operation of the Kitchen and working in a team to provide quality and a high level of service to guests while adhering to Kitchen policies and procedures.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Food production in accordance with requirements whilst ensuring correct methods of cooking, consistency in product and quality
  • Ensure the overall cleanliness and the health and safety & ALLSafe aspects of the kitchen are maintained at all times
  • Responsible for proper storage, labelling and use of all food supplies to prevent unnecessary spoilage and to maintain cost control
  • Assist in the supervision of junior kitchen staff by providing instruction of duties
  • Assist in the running of sections in the kitchen during the absence of the Chef De Partie

What we’re looking for:

  • Commercial Cookery Qualification – Cert III or IV
  • An experienced Chef with a creative flair and able to work across a la carte dining and functions and events
  • Double Covid vaccination in line with QLD government regulations
  • Familiar with Food Safety and WHS legislation
  • A passion for locally sourced and seasonal produce
  • A desire to develop among a driven & professional team
  • Ability to work autonomously on a section or within a fast-paced team
  • Availability to work a flexible roster, including nights, week-ends and public holidays.
  • Current full working rights in Australia to be able to work a full-time roster.
