The Company

This international Tier 1 Oil & Gas drilling contractor has been in operation for over 30 years. They have grown to be one of the world’s largest and advanced organisations that have a strong international presence, have built a solid reputation by their reliable performance, superior services and their ability to outperform competitors. Due to unprecedented growth in Australia and multiple contracts won with multi-billion dollar organisations, they are in demand for an experienced Assistant Driller and drilling crew to support the Onshore Drilling team.

The Position

The Assistant Driller assists the Driller in organising and training crew members on all jobs in regard to drilling operations, equipment maintenance and safe working practices. This includes the organising and conducting of various drills to ensure that all crew personnel can respond efficiently and responsibly during emergency situations and as such coordinates the work of the crews on the rig and the work of any additional rig workers or technicians who may be assigned to that rig.

Qualifications, Tickets and Licences

  • Certificate II & III in Onshore Oil & Gas Drilling
  • Current, Well Control BOP Certificate
  • Minimum of three years experience in the drilling industry (preferred)
  • Minimum of one year as a Derrickman (preferred)
  • Able to work 3:3 FIFO roster
  • About You

Whilst this is a role working on Oil & Gas Drilling rigs, experience in heavy industry such as Mining, Production Facilities, Power Systems also advantageous.
