  • Greater Sydney Parklands (GSP) is a city-wide agency created to become Sydney’s leading urban parks advocate. In partnership with communities and governments, it will plan for and expand great open spaces and parklands and champion the NSW Government’s 50 Year Vision for Sydney’s Open Space and Parklands.

    GSP currently brings together five iconic parks across Sydney: Centennial Parklands, Parramatta Park, Western Sydney Parklands, Callan Park and Fernhill Estate.

    Made up of collaborative, creative and committed people, GSP is looking for a Community Engagement Manager who will be responsible for establishing and overseeing the operation of GSP’s new community trustee boards playing a leading role in ensuring the success of the five iconic parks across Sydney.

    The Community Engagement Manager’s main duties will be to:

  • Oversee the successful establishment and operation of five community trustee boards (CTBs) which may increase in number as the estate grows, including the delivery of quarterly meetings for each CTB and support for additional engagement activities throughout the year.
  • Preparing accurate, clear and accessible communications materials including planning and publishing meeting agendas in advance, coordinating pre-reading materials and publishing meeting summaries. 
  • Working collaboratively with Directors, Subject Matter Experts and consultants on content and presentations for CTBs.
  • Internal and external stakeholder management including working effectively with consultants.
  • Develop and implement community and stakeholder engagement strategies across the agency to reach, engage and involve a range of diverse communities and stakeholders and support GSP’s delivery of major projects, programs and policies.
  • Prepare GSP Board and engagement reports, providing accurate information and advice to meet tight deadlines.
  • Manage engagement platforms, systems and processes to ensure community engagement is transparent, inclusive, accessible and captures accurate data.
  • Drive innovation to ensure best-practice consultation and engagement standards are met in line with GSP’s Consultation and Engagement Framework.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality and innovative community engagement strategies.
  • IAP2 training would be highly regarded.
  • Essential Requirements

  • Relevant tertiary education qualifications and/or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Ability to work outside of normal working hours and on weekends if required.
  • Current NSW driver’s license.
