THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an individual with current experience and knowledge in the Horticulture industry to join our Class Support Team as a Technical Assistant. 

We have a temporary part time opportunity until February 2024, with possible extension, available for the following hours, located at Tamworth Campus:

• 15 hours per week x 41 weeks and
• 3 hours per week x 9 weeks during the vacation period

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Technical Assistant (Horticulture) provides support in the preparation of materials and equipment to support educational delivery and ensure the ongoing care and maintenance of equipment, facilities and grounds within the teaching section.

ESSENTIAL REQUIERMENTS

1. Ability to maintain and operate agricultural equipment. 
2. Knowledge of safe handling and use of pesticides and chemicals. 
3. Experience in store procedures and stock control. 
4. Good organisational skills and the ability to work as a member of a team with minimal supervision. 
5. Class LR driver’s licence with the capacity to travel for business purposes as required. 
6. Possession of or willingness to obtain one or more of the following:
– Forklift Licence.
– First Aid Certificate.

7. Ability to comply with and implement WH&S policy and related documents.
