The Role:

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Permanent Full Time Chef to join one of the fastest growing catering companies in Australia. At our college located in North Adelaide, you will have the opportunity to provide efficient, hands-on catering services for up to 175 University students – all within our spacious, traditional kitchen and dining facilities.

Roster: 

Six days a week during term time with a long Summer break.

  • Monday to Friday (6.00am – 2.30pm / 11:00am – 7:30pm)
  • Saturday/Sunday (10.00am – 6.30pm) – Hours placed into time in lieu to provide income for the long summer break

What This Role Involves:

  • Working alongside the Chef/Manager to achieve the best possible outcomes for our students
  • Menu planning, cooking nutritious homestyle meals: fresh baked morning/afternoon tea; hot lunches, soup, evening meal and desserts
  • Consideration of special dietary requirements including; allergies/intolerances, supplements
  • Assisting with the management of small kitchen team, including training/development, motivation and encouraging staff productivity
  • Forming and maintaining key relationships with residents, culinary team, client and management
  • Strict adherence to Food Safety practices, HACCP and WH&S principles

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Trade qualified Chef with several years of experience in a busy kitchen
  • Strong working knowledge of Food Safety
  • A passion for great food and customer service
  • Ability to communicate with various stakeholders
  • Ability to work with limited supervision
  • A commitment to team development & leadership
  • Pride in personal hygiene & presentation
