In 2019, Woolworths Group established Australian Grocery Wholesalers (AGW) to act as a standalone domestic wholesale business supporting primarily our partnerships with Wholesale customers such as Ampol and Foodbank. As the business evolved, the scope was expanded to include remote indigenous communities, charity partners and in early 2021. The business is now focused on further growth opportunities across different market segments.

The role
This role would be well suited to a skilled finance person or a Category Assistant who is analytical. You will be responsible for Pricing ranges to customers, managing pricing movements, finding financial benefits to deliver profit targets. They will be engaging closely with the Commercial Managers while keeping open channels of communication with support services that impact our customer pricing, such as supply chain.

Data and Insights will be a key focus area in building a commercial suite of services, and this role will be pivotal to the establishment and ongoing advancement of this.

Responsibilities

  • Providing high quality report, analysis and insights on Sales and GP results weekly
  • Facilitate efficient meetings with teams and supporting teams when presenting pricing
  • Establishing strong relationships internally and external customers
  • Managing Wholesale Pricing Adjustments (WPA)
  • Communicating the financial results providing recommendations with opportunities in category, customer, channel, COGS
  • Provide insightful analysis and clear commentary by working with the Commercial Managers and Head of Commercial/Sales on key drivers and performance trends
  • Supporting the Commercial team to identify range movements
  • Provide robust analysis of market & industry trends to aid in the identification of opportunities and risks
  • Partnering with the commercial team to develop & implement robust strategic capital initiatives
  • Identifying and implement opportunities that improve processes across B2B team
  • Providing better value for customers via analysis to support lower COGS and adopting more efficient practices
  • Ensuring ownership and accountability for delivering results through follow through on key actions with both Finance team and commercial business partners
  • Defining and implement process improvements 
  • About you
    This role would be suited to a pricing Analyst or a Category Assistant who is analytical with good excel skills.

    You will have:

  • Proven experience in a financial role 
  • Proven experience supporting sales team within multinational retail/FMCG sectors
  • Solid business partner who will add value through accurate reporting and value-added insight
  • Perform under tight timelines, meet deadlines and in an environment of constant change
  • Strong communication skills, stakeholder management and relationship building skills
  • Strong systems experience (SAP, GCP and Business Objects) and good excel skills
  • Ability to handle pressure and manage expectations
  • Strong customer relationship building, with effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence to achieve an objective
