The Opportunity

Health Concierge is a program established to help Medibank members with specific health needs when they need it most – such as when preparing for, or recovering from, a hospital stay or treatment.  From providing targeted healthcare information, emotional support, and links to resources in the community, Health Concierge is our way of offering the extra support and care our members need, when they need it most, to help them get the best possible outcome.

As a Health Concierge Clinician, your role is to connect with Medibank members within the Retail store and via the phone to support them in their preparation for a hospital admission or ongoing treatment. You will offer support, link them to support services and resources and provide relevant non clinical advice to help them make informed decisions about their health, supporting them to improve their health outcomes.

Here is a snapshot of what you will be doing:

  • Support the Retail team in delivering an exceptional customer experience for Medibank members whilst instore;
  • Provide support to members with regards to their health journey, treatment or operation and communicate relevant/appropriate resources available to them in an engaging, sensitive way:
  • Assist and empower members in navigating the health system and offering support for them when and where they need it;
  • Ensure members feel safe, supported and providing a friendly, personal experience;
  • Work towards KPIs and targets whilst ensuring a quality experience for Medibank members.

Please note:

  • This role is a non-clinical support service – you will work both a mix of shifts working from home via telephone and within a Retail store at one of the following locations – Chadstone, Galleria, Highpoint, Knox, Box Hill, Doncaster and Geelong
  • We have full and part time (0.6 – 1.0 FTE) positions available. A minimum of 1 day a week must be worked at the retail store.
  • Start date 2nd May –  with 9 days of  Virtual via Zoom full time training (Mon- Fri) before moving to your fixed roster.
  • You will be rostered across the hours of 9-6 pm (Melbourne local time) Monday to Friday.
  • Please note, working from home will require you to have fast, reliable internet and appropriate work space to ensure privacy whilst working.
  • You must have had a minimum of 2 Covid-19 vaccinations to be considered.

About You

With strong interpersonal skills and a thoroughly engaging phone manner, you present as a positive, enthusiastic and adaptable personality with focused mindset to deliver exceptional service to Medibank members. Self-motivated and proactive, you are comfortable working to KPIs and targets.

You are a Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Exercise Physiologist, Dietitian or Social Worker with AHPRA or relevant registration, with a minimum of 1 years’ post qualification experience and who genuinely cares about the health outcomes and the wellbeing of others. 

Previous customer service or telephone-based experience, applying active listening skills will be advantageous. As will an adaptable communication style which allows you to empathise when dealing with vulnerable customers and build trusted relationships with people at all levels.
