About the Role 
In this exciting role as a  Research Fellow – Hydrogen and Renewable Supply Chain with the Victorian Hydrogen Hub (VH2), you will work with industry partners and the wider Swinburne research community to investigate the whole of supply chain implications involved in the implementation of hydrogen-based and renewable fuels across transport, manufacturing, and industrial applications. Particular attention will be paid to questions including heavy vehicle applications of hydrogen, total carbon footprint of various strategies, total cost of implementation and use, scalability and possible cost reductions that could be achieved via targeted R&D funding in the hydrogen and renewable energy sector. This role will also explore how hydrogen will interface with other renewable technologies with which they will be embedded.

About You 
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities: 

  • Skills and knowledge in understanding, analysing and modelling of hydrogen related energy generation, conversion (processes such as electrical, mechanical, chemical etc) and transportation in a holistic approach.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including substantial experience using Python data science, mathematical modelling, and optimisation packages.
  • Strong professional network to support access to relevant information.
  • Intellectual ability to develop creative and breakthrough solutions for industry.
  • Passion for renewable energy and hydrogen technology trends and the ability to translate them into client solutions


Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Advanced degree or PhD in engineering, energy, physics or business.
