How will I help?

The role has responsibly for end-to-end support of the Boards of the Funds Management entities, which meet concurrently, under the oversight of the Head of the Wealth Services Secretariat.  This role is supported by a Board Liaison Manager. 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing best practice governance advice and services to the Boards of the Westpac Group’s Funds Management entities;
  • Managing risk associated with that advice and those services; and
  • Participating in strategic initiatives to improve the efficiency of the Group Secretariat function.  
  • Preparing meeting agendas, reviewing and distributing board papers and circular resolutions, tracking Board action items to closure, attending Board meetings and minuting those meetings
  • Updating the Board annual meeting calendar and forward planner and drafting Secretariat board papers, including Quarterly Secretariat Reports and papers in relation to Board Effectiveness Reviews
  • Providing support to the Head of Wealth Services Secretariat and the Group Company Secretary on corporate governance, secretariat, strategic and other Westpac Group matters, as required

What do I need?

  • 5+ years relevant experience in a similar role
  • Financial services sector experience preferred
  • Tertiary qualification in law, finance or other relevant degree preferred
  • Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Has strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
  • Maintains confidentiality and exercises discretion and sensitivity
