About the role:

We are looking for experienced and motivated Food Services Assistants to join our team across various sites throughout Tasmania, with availability to work Weekdays and Weekends.

  • Providing our residents with memorable dining experiences to enhance their daily lives
  • Assisting the chef in providing a high standard of food/catering services for residents in accordance with individual requirements and preference

Be organised and keen to serve, you appreciate and respond to resident needs by listening and communicating well, escalating any concerns as needed, whilst ensuring resident privacy and dignity is always maintained

About you:

You are passionate about what you do and want to make a difference in the lives of our residents/clients, you also:

  • Completion of a Basic Food Handlers Certificate (preferred)
  • An understanding of resident’s rights, OH&S and the Food Safety Act
  • Experience in Food Services in Aged Care / Health (desired)
  • Are known for your caring and compassionate nature
  • Have the initiative and ability to work without supervision
  • Work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision as required and as part of a team
  • Are committed to being part of a workplace culture based on the BEST way of life (Believe, Excel, Support and Trust)

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • Current and required flu and COVID-19 Vaccinations
  • A current Working With Children’s Check
  • Have Australian working rights and are able to pass a national police clearance
  • Are willing to work within the ethos of the Uniting Church
