The City is seeking applications from candidates to undertake the position of Coordinator Events. This role is responsible for leading the City’s Events Team in the planning, facilitation and execution of events, projects and initiatives which celebrate our diverse community and establish the City as a major centre for arts and cultural experiences.

You will be responsible for the following annual events calendar (but not limited to):

  • Sunset Concert Series;
  • KidsFest;
  • The Pop-Up Project;
  • Multicultural Festival;
  • Art Prize Awards Evening and Exhibition;
  • Christmas Street Party; and
  • Seniors Christmas Lunch.
  • This is a fast-paced position, and we are looking for someone with a proactive approach and exceptional organisational skills. You will be expected to show initiative on how to improve current offerings and develop new and exciting projects.

    To be considered for this position, you must be able to demonstrate success in event management, have a proactive approach and exceptional organisational skills. This is a busy role so your ability to work under pressure and time manage to tight deadlines will make you a favourable candidate. Most importantly, you’ll be a team player with a “can do” attitude and willing to go the extra mile.

    About the role:

  • Lead the delivery of the City’s Annual Events Calendar and associated initiatives which promote culture, support the expansion of new and emerging creative industries, and contribute to enhanced liveability in Kalgoorlie-Boulder;
  • Seek and develop community and financial partnerships beneficial to the City including securing appropriate external funding for existing and new programs, events and other activities;
  • Provide expert evaluation to the suitability of events held within the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder by ensuring they fit within the scope and context of the Events Operational Plan and the City’s Strategic Community Plan;
  • Actively seek and suggest ways to improve work practices and outcomes;
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of the Annual Events Calendar as well as achieving maximum outcomes for the City;
  • Support, train and mentor all staff associated with the Events Team, including all performance management, training and development aspects;
  • Develop and monitor the Events budget and strive for continuous improvement to ensure all events are delivered on time and budget;
  • Prepare submissions, briefs, research and reports as required to the City’s Executive Team and Council.
