Fixed term part-time opportunity – 15.2 hours per weekBased at Kyogle, NSWLead a team of fantastic Volunteers About the OpportunityHammondCare is an independent Christian charity that exists to improve quality of life for people in need. We specialise in aged and dementia care, palliative care, rehabilitation, mental health services for older people, and other related health and aged care services.The role of the Pastoral Care and Volunteer Coordinator works within the Mission and Mission in Action of HammondCare to lead and coordinate a team of volunteers across the Northern Rivers to provide pastoral care and other support to HammondCare’s clients living in their own homes. Based in our office in Kyogle NSW, this role will also provide pastoral support to staff and client’s families and act as a role model for staff and as an advocate for the organisation’s mission and Christian values.Reporting to the Volunteer Manager HammondCare At Home you will: Attract, recruit and manage volunteers. You’ll match volunteers with suitable clients, and support volunteers as they visit the client each week. Volunteers may also be involved in local groups, such as social clubs and men’s bbqs.Manage and mentor volunteers, supporting them with both online and onsite face-to-face training as well as coordaining social volunteer eventsMaintain accurate records in our volunteer database (Salesforce) and follow established processes and guidelines for Volunteer Services. You will assist all volunteers to meet mandatory immunization requirementsProvide pastoral support for staff, client’s families, and clients (on occasion)Act as a role model for staff and as an advocate for the organisation’s mission and Christian values.Share their pastoral expertise and coach staff and volunteers to support the spiritual needs of the clients. More about you Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action.Pastoral Care qualification or recognised theological/pastoral qualifications (desirable).Strong personal and active Christian faith and church involvement is essential.Readiness and enthusiasm to recruit volunteers through different sourcesDemonstrated ability to lead and guide volunteer teamsAbility to problem solve and remain flexible in changing environments.Experience working with volunteers and growing the service to meet targets.A current Australian Class C Driver’s Licence, a safe driving record, and your own reliable, registered, and comprehensively insured vehicle. Willingness to travel between HammondCare’s sites and services.Strong administrative and computer skills, including database managementDemonstrated ability to manage, motivate and develop a team and effectively work with other staff.Attitude of service with a pastoral heart and initiative.High level crisis Management & Conflict Management skills.Advanced communication skills including compassion and empathy.Good relationship building skills and empathy.Strong communication and interpersonal skills About HammondCare
