POSITION TITLE:              Nursing Unit Manager
HOURS:                             Full-time (up until June 30 2022) with possible extension 
OPERATIONAL BASE:     Camden Residential Unit
CLASSIFICATION             Nurse Unit Manager Level 1
VACCINATION CATEGORY:       A-High Risk
RESPONSIBLE TO:        Director of Clinical Services
    

SUMMARY ROLE AND FUNCTION

We are seeking an experienced Manager who is able to provide leadership and manage the delivery of health care services to all families admitted to the Camden Residential Unit. The position is an integral part of nursing administration and has responsibility and accountability for planning, development, implementation and evaluation of health services for clients and for overseeing the delivery of those services. This includes the co-ordination and monitoring of service provision, and implementing and monitoring activity relating to service planning and development and policy development.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA: (Each criteria must be addressed in the a cover letter)

    
1.    Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia
2.    Post Graduate Child and Family Nurse Qualification with a minimum of 3 years’ experience .demonstrated recent experience
3.    Demonstrated experience in health management or working towards or a combination of study and demonstrated recent experience.
4.    Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to liaise and negotiate with clinicians, managers, staff and other key stakeholders.
5.    Demonstrated child and family clinical experience in coordinating the delivery of services to meet identified operational outcomes.
6.    Demonstrated experience in leading and managing staff to provide exceptional client care hat is flexible and responsive and ensures the optimal family experience.
7.    Demonstrated experience in budget development and monitoring financial performance
8.    Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire and manage staff to achieve service and organisational goals utilising recognised change management principles
9.    Demonstrated ability in windows programs, data bases, andor computer based rostering systems
10.    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and in particular key messages in relation to the First 2000 Days implementation strategy.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

•    Temporary full-time (up until June 30 2022) with possible extension (38 hours per week) status in accordance with the Named NSW (Non­ Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations' Nurses Agreement 2017. Shift times and days may be varied according to the needs of the organisation. Karitane services are provided at a number of sites within the Sydney Metropolitan Area.
•    The majority of Karitane services close for approximately two weeks over the ChristmasNew Year period, during which time employees are required to take leave. Negotiable for Careline & Intake Services
