The Technology and Services Division (TSD) is responsible for delivering, supporting, maintaining, and managing the ICT environment and hosted systems for the department and external agencies. The division provides and supports the department’s ICT platforms and infrastructure, network, gateway, end user computing and collaboration tools, information and records management, property, facilities and building security, ICT procurement, TSD and client projects, customer support and management. There are four branches within the group – IT Workplace, Environment and Customer Support, Digital Workplace, Infrastructure and Platforms and Security and Operations Branch. We are looking to fill multiple current vacancies across the four branches. 

Branch Overview 
Digital Workplace
The branch’s core responsibilities are client and stakeholder facing and focussed, aimed at excellence in developing, maintaining, and delivering the department’s desktop, collaboration and business tools, intranet and corporate applications, and its records management systems.

Infrastructure, Platforms and Projects
The branch includes multiple ICT specialist teams who are responsible for providing and maintaining the ICT platforms, technology and infrastructure systems that support and enable the department’s and its client agencies programs and business.

Security Operations
The core responsibilities of the branch include managing and overseeing the department’s Gateway, cyber security, identity and access management and ICT controls and framework.

IT Workplace, Environment and Customer Support 
The branch delivers property and facilities management, service desk and support to department, our ministers, and client agencies, project management and governance for the division, protective security, emergency, and continuity services, and ICT procurement services.
 

The key duties of the position include:

We are looking for talented, hard-working team members, and team leaders with extensive experience working in/and or supervising service-oriented teams, in a fast-paced and dynamic, predominantly ICT environment. You will be expected to work as part of a team to contribute to and deliver day to day operations and services and support a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholders, including the executive, our ministers, and our internal and external clients. You will need to have very strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management skills. Delivering excellent customer service is essential in all these positions.

• Active Director and System Center 
• Disaster Recovery – General ICT Administrator 
• Cyber Security Analyst
• ICT Security Engineer
• ICT Security Policy Officer
• Microsoft Azure Specialist
• Amazon Web Services 
• Junior IT Security Advisor
• Office 365 and Dynamics 365 Cloud Specialist

To be successful in this role you will have:
• have an excellent work ethic and the ability to work under pressure with competing priorities
• minimum two years of experience in a similar position is preferred
• demonstrated experience in supporting and maintaining IT infrastructure
• have relevant technical knowledge and capabilities in line with APS 4, APS5 or APS6 work level standards
• be forward thinking, have innovative approaches to work and great analytical/problem solving skills
• have capacity to develop and maintain strong, internal, and external client and stakeholder relationships 
• proven ability to work, support and contribute as a productive member of a team 
• possess very high levels of oral and written communication and negotiation skills
• relevant study, tertiary qualifications and/or vocational training will be well regarded.
 

Eligibility

Please note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing.

This is a designated security assessed position. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance. 

This selection process may be used to establish a merit pool. The pool might be accessed to fill ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies for similar roles in the Department over the next 12 months.

Non-ongoing positions may be offered for an initial period of up to 18 months, with a possible extension of up to 3 years in total.
