Eligibility: Open to Everyone Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network – Rural and Remote Mental Health Service, Location negotiableTotal Indicative Remuneration: RN/M3 $125,813 – $131,437 Permanent Full-time position The Nursing Portfolio Lead will use their clinical knowledge and experience to provide pivotal leadership, management and coordination of projects, programs and research for the professional development of nursing staff and students, across regional LHNs MH services. The position will work closely with the Senior Manager, Acute Services/Director of Nursing (DON) to provide a high quality professional learning environment to ensure nursing staff and students receive consistent and appropriate education and training, in line with the Department of Health and Wellbeing‘s quality framework. The Nursing Portfolio Lead, in conjunction with the Senior Manager, Acute Services/DON will develop and coordinate nursing professional practice and education frameworks for regional LHNs MH services and assists in the development of a safe and positive learning culture in the interest of consumer outcomes. The incumbent will provide professional nursing leadership and clinical supervision and will oversee the development and provision of specific education and training projects, programs and/or research. Employees classified at this level provide clinical nursing expertise for specified individual consumers and/or groups/populations, and/or provide clinical leadership for an area of practice, and may work in a variety of clinical settings. Employees classified at this level are experts within their area and stream of practice and have a significant degree of autonomy and decision making. Various practice models may be used to enact this role, including but not limited to:• Primarily providing expert mental health nursing care and/or consultation;• Providing clinical leadership to nurses; and• Coordination and leadership of projects and/or programs that contribute clinical expertise to improve consumer/service outcomes. Employees in this role accept accountability for their mental health nursing practice, the outcomes of nursing practices for the specific consumer group, the professional advice given, delegations of care made and for addressing inconsistencies between practice and policy.
