  • About the Opportunity

    HammondCare is an independent Christian charity that exists to improve quality of life for people in need.

    We specialise in aged and dementia care, palliative care, rehabilitation, mental health services for older people, and other related health and aged care services. HammondCare Wahroonga is a residential care home specialising in dementia care, provided in a four-level care home.

    We’re seeking a Volunteer Coordinator who will be responsible for leading and growing a vibrant volunteer service that provides volunteer assistance to residents, families, and staff.

    Reporting to the Volunteer Manager Aged Care you will:

  • Attract, recruit and onboard volunteers, matching their interests with suitable opportunities
  • Manage and mentor volunteers, supporting them with both online and onsite face-to-face training as well as coordaining social volunteer events
  • Maintain accurate records in our volunteer database (Salesforce) and follow established processes and guidelines for Volunteer Services. You will assist all volunteers to meet mandatory immunization requirements, screening checks and training.
  • Work with the multidisciplinary staff team to build a volunteer service that compliments the needs of the aged care home.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and guide volunteer teams.
  • Ability to problem solve and remain flexible in changing environments.
  • Experience working with volunteers.
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence and ability to liaise with staff and key stakeholders
  • Be willing to meet our mandatory immunization requirements
