Your new role 

  • 2IC to the PMO Manager – Gain Program level experience 
  • Lead the development of Risk, Benefits realisation and other program outputs  
  • Grow your career as a PMO Leader or Project and Program Manager 

As the right hand to the PMO Manager, you'll be joining a collaborative team, an interesting and growing program of work, supporting Federal Government and Defence clients. The program is responsible for undertaking the remediation and retirement of a number of applications for a high profile customer. 

This role will suit someone has a demonstrated experience as a Project Manager, who wants to gain experience at the Program level and start developing leadership skills. You'll be responsible for areas in the program such as Benefits realisation, Risk management and for managing status reporting, variation reporting and more. 

Your role will involve: 

  • Building the governance framework for a PMO; 
  • Providing project management coaching and mentoring to build capability;  
  • Assisting with developing and executing the Program reporting framework, including writing program reports;
  • Performing the function of Risk Manager for the program leading all activities related to Program Risk;
  • Providing relief to the PMO Manager as required, including leading PMO staff and leading PMO engagements;
  • As applicable, leading and managing minor projects as part of the program remit;
  • Supporting the PMO Manager with a range of deliverables including interfacing with a challenging customer group. 

Qualifications

About you and What You Will Bring 

Your a seasoned Project Management professional with at least 7 years experience including working directly with clients. Experience with either Defence or Federal Government clients is preferred but not essential. You also bring: 

  • Risk Management experience and knowledge of the ISO Risk Management principles;
  • Strong analysis and critical thinking skills with the ability to undertake process reengineering;
  • Familiar with creating, reviewing and amending PMO processes and procedures;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills;
  • Experience developing and executing Risk Management frameworks;
  • Sharepoint experience desirable but not essential;
  • Visio knowledge.

Candidates must also hold Australian citizenship and a baseline security clearance to be eligible to apply.
