We are valued by the community for supporting compliant, productive and inclusive Australian workplaces and we deliver practical workplace relations advice and assistance.As a member of the Pay Team within the People Branch, you will provide timely, accurate and comprehensive services to the Executive and employees of the Agency and provide stakeholders with timely and comprehensive written and verbal advice. You will contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the pay team service.These services include:Guidance and advice regarding payroll mattersInterpretation and advice about legislative and industrial agreementsPayroll processing, administration and have outstanding attention to detailContribution to the development of policies and procedures that support payroll servicesManage own workloads in an environment of competing prioritiesAs a member of the Pay Team, you will work with your Team Leader to provide guidance, advice and support to employees on pay related matters. You will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where judgement and attention to detail is required. You will handle confidential information appropriately and value inclusion and diversity.The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, sound judgement, commitment to continuous improvement and the ability to work with limited direction. You will be rewarded and recognised for your performance and have the satisfaction of knowing you work for an agency which aims to achieve fairness in Australian workplaces.For further information about the Fair Work Ombudsman, please visit https://www.fairwork.gov.au.The key duties of the position include:Completing payroll transactions and related correspondence in accordance with the payroll cycleMonitoring and responding to email correspondenceProviding clear, comprehensive and accurate verbal and/or written advice to stakeholders within appropriate time framesMaintaining accurate records to a high standard, including digital filesContributing to the development of new practices and proceduresContributing to projects that support team business objectivesAssisting with the coordination and scheduling of interviews for recruitment exercisesSelection Criteria Experience or the ability to quickly learn how to undertake pay transactions on an automated pay management system (SAP experience is desirable but not essential)Ability to interpret employment legislation and provide accurate advice on employee entitlementsWell-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentialityExceptional customer service skills, including initiative and the ability to foster effective working relationships with stakeholders with both internal and external stakeholdersExcellent organisational skills, including drive to achieve results and respond to changing and competing priorities
