This role is positioned within a key business unit to actively provide both strategic and operational advice and support for data and information governance, management, processes and practices.The role will work as part of the Data, Information and Analytics section and the broader Digital Information and Technology Services group and is responsible for:Data profiling and cataloguing both internal and external datasets and information products, maintaining metadata schemas and business glossaries, andAdministration of Austrade’s records management system for both physical and digital information.Understand Austrade’s Data and Information Governance Frameworks and implementation roadmaps including strategic priorities for development.Manage Austrade’s data catalogue including profiling and cataloguing both internal and external datasets and information products, maintaining metadata schemas and business glossaries accessible to Austrade staff.Provide advisory services pertaining to the use of datasets and information products when new business opportunities are identified to achieve efficiency and commercial effectiveness.Provide data and information management and governance support to identified stewards and custodians of Austrade’s priority datasets and information products.Manage Austrade’s records management system for both physical and digital information.Provide advisory services related to creation, storage/retention, migration and destruction of physical and digital information within all Austrade’s official information systems.Contribute to the development and implementation of user-oriented procedures, guidelines and processes for data and information governance and management practices within Austrade.Actively participate in Austrade’s newly-formed Data Champions network to build an active community of practice focussed on data governance and management.Champion and promote data and information governance and management to Austrade business units.Undertake special information management projects, as required by the Services Manager. Actively apply Austrade business practices and maintain information integrity in all Austrade business systems to deliver accurate and timely reporting and effective relationship management.Contribute to knowledge creation within Austrade, by adopting data and information practices, sharing knowledge and information and by embracing best practice and development opportunities.Work collaboratively within the Austrade network to contribute to service delivery and achieve desired outcomes, while upholding the Australian Public Service Values, Employment Principles and Code of Conduct and Work Health & Safety (WHS) principles. Australian citizenship – our successful candidate must be an Australian citizen.Security clearance – our successful candidate will be subject to a number of vetting processes, including Baseline prior to appointment.
