With commercial, manufacturing and distribution sites scattered across Australia and New Zealand, including Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney, Auckland, Adelaide, Newcastle, and Perth, our scope covers life sciences; specialty diagnostics; food, dairy & beverage; environmental & industrial; healthcare and; analytical instruments including commercial, customer service, technical service, supply chain, finance and operations.Job Title: Stores/Dispatch ClerkReports to: Materials ManagerPosition Location: M&M, Adelaide, Australia Number of Direct Reports: 0How you’ll make an impact: Your primary responsibility is for our Australian Materials and Minerals (M&M) spares and aftermarket division for order picking, packing and dispatch tasks for all domestic and international orders. This includes the creation of all export documentation, including labelling, Country of Origin (COO) and Commercial Invoice (CI) preparation. You will manage mainly domestic freight queries and issues relating to order status with customer service teams as necessary and also support the team with international freight. This role also supports the goods receiving function for the accurate receipt of materials and items (goods inward) into the Adelaide facility Stores and “pick” and book items from store to fulfill picking list requirements for production.What will you do?Prepare and dispatch spare parts for our customers both within Australia and OverseasArrange transport and when required and prepare export documentation for international spares ordersComplete all associated dispatch paperwork, including non-conformance itemsLoad spares and domestic freight onto trucksAcquire domestic freight quotes and collaborate closely with international customers for ex-work shipments and collectionsRecord keeping of selected orders statusInspect, receipt and store goods. Verify all items are as per purchase ordersIdentify and report to team leader any non-conformances or items requiring inspection and test prior to store receiptingProvide colleagues with general advice in relation to the goods inward functionMaintain levels of consignment notesMaintain packing Kanban levelsProtect the safety and wellbeing of self and all others in the workplace by adhering to company and individual site policies/practicesHow will you get here?Minimum Year 11 completion and passCurrent forklift licence (highly preferred)1-2 years’ experience working in a fast-paced dispatch area Hands-on experience in preparing freight for export, through the:Pick, pack and labelling stageDomestic and International document preparation (focus on international, requires the most amount of correspondence and doc and has more risk attached if not done well)Booking domestic and international consignmentsLoading and dispatching small to large vehiclesHands-on experience with online freight booking portals (preferred)What will put you ahead of the competition?Good PC and Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) skillsSound literacy and numeracy skills and good communication skillsKeen attention to detail and able to recognise inconsistencies and non-conformances, with the technical skills to work through the correction processAbility to work as part of a team to accomplish objectivesPrevious experience in goods receipting, preferably in a similar environment with industrial electro-mechanical type parts and assembliesPrevious experience working with an ERP systemWhat’s in it for you?Access to Thermo Fisher’s global UniversityExposure to market leading cutting-edge technologiesDevelopment opportunities as part of a rapidly growing global organisation
