We are committed to addressing pay equity and gender equality through our recruitment, promotions, rewards and recognition.Reporting to the Resource Geology Superintendent, the position will be responsible for the evaluation of mineral resource projects including the management of geological data, the provision of geological models and the estimation and reporting of Mineral Resources.This is a permanent full-time opportunity, based in our Corporate Perth CBD office, working Monday – Friday. The OpportunitySupporting the Superintendent to undertake the estimation and reporting of mineral resources to support mine schedules for open cut and underground operations ensuring integration with mine plans.Coordinate the close off of site drilling databases and the transfer of all drilling and geological data prior to the commencement of mineral resource estimate updates.Check input data and geological models provided by sites are robust and fit for purpose for use in mineral resource estimates.Provide completed resource models and documentation for sites that are unambiguous and fit for purpose.Monitor monthly reconciliation data across sites to ensure the robustness and validity of current resource models.Monitor drilling results and QAQC data on a regular basis to ensure data is suitable for resource estimation.Support the preparation of documentation to inform Company’s Annual Mineral Resource report to the ASX.Provide support in the collaboration between resource geology and operational site teams across the company to ensure the sharing of successful innovation and practice initiatives.Liaise with site personnel to understand planned resource definition and grade control drilling and stay informed of drilling progress and any issues.Contribute to technical evaluations and reviews in support of organic growth opportunities.What you can expect from usA caring and supportive culture.A high-performing St Barbara community.Professional and positive team environments on site, and at all facilities.A ‘grow our own’ approach with a preference to develop and promote internally.Access to professional development activities and educational assistance.Competitive salary and options for salary sacrificing.Access to a generous superannuation scheme including salary continuance and death and disability cover.A proud Equal Opportunity Employer and Employer of Choice for Gender Diversity.What we will expect from youYou should feel a strong alignment with St Barbara’s values as you will be required to live them.Bachelor’s Degree in Geology (or similar)Solid experience in the mining industry – primarily gold – with demonstrated experience in resource estimation.Resource estimation software skills (Isatis, Geovia Surpac, Studio RM, Vulcan).Membership or eligibility for membership of the AusIMM or AIG.Sound technical report writing skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Does this sound like you? If so, we’d love to hear from you.
