About the opportunity We are seeking volunteers to provide social support (companionship and activity support) to aged care residents across our Western Sydney aged care homes.Our social support volunteers play important roles in people’s lives; keeping people connected, active and continuing to participate in the activities they love.We have homes in Parramatta, North Parramatta, Westmead, Blacktown, Penrith, Emu Plains and Ermington. What you needAn interest in people and genuine interactionsActive listening skillsA few hours a weekHobbies or interests you are willing to share e.g. playing chess, knitting, reading, music, bi-lingual, drivers and othersWe love learning from our volunteers so if you have a particular skill or hobby, we’d love to hear from you! Volunteering with Uniting is subject to satisfactory background checks which include a National Police Check and Reference Checks.
