Our Darwin office has an exciting new opportunity for a passionate Senior Environmental Scientist – Impact Assessment & Permitting to join our Environmental Group. You will work on a range of key Northern Australia development projects across industry for the government and private sector. This role will see you being part of and leading integrated multi-disciplinary teams of technical professionals across a variety of disciplines including; terrestrial and aquatic ecologists, geochemists, hydrologists, social impact assessors and environmental impact. This role will see you involved in: Designing, coordination and delivery of environmental impact assessment studies and environmental management plans Coordination of technical studies associated with land, water, air and communities and associated with oil & gas, mining and/or construction industry projects Preparation of environmental constraints reports, environmental impact statements and statutory referrals to agencies for major developments Managing projects including budgets and timelines and team members Providing environmental advice to both internal and external clients Identifying business development opportunities and providing input to tenders Contributing to the success of the wider team, by leading a variety of multidisciplinary projects What you will bring to the team Bachelor’s Degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, science, planning or other discipline relevant to environmental impact assessment 5 to 8 years industry experience in the technical delivery of environmental impact assessments, investigations, feasibility studies, site surveys, sampling, audits, studies, reports, specifications and cost estimates, master plans etc. Consulting experience Understanding of Federal and NT environmental legislation Understanding of the NT EPA processes, reporting and licensing requirements Excellent communication and report writing skills (both verbal and written).
