Exciting opportunity to join the DPIRD team to develop the agri-food industryDo you have experience in plant tissue culture and doubled haploid production? The Opportunity. This exciting opportunity will contribute to the economic development of the agri-food industry with a focus on biotechnology and plant tissue culture. You will be working with the DPIRD Cereal Doubled Haploid Program, a specialist plant tissue culture program that provides an important service to the grains industry by producing wheat and barley doubled haploid populations for plant breeding and research. The work conducted by the Research Scientist will contribute to the impact of the agri-food industry sector and deliver scientific excellence.For further key responsibilities, please see attached JDF. The Ideal Candidate. The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in plant tissue culture and cereal doubled haploid production using anther and/or microspore culture. They will also be experienced in ploidy analysis using flow cytometry, growing and maintaining plants in growth chambers and greenhouses and demonstrate a knowledge of genetics and plant breeding.For all essential criteria, please see the attached JDF.
