Funded through an industry partner, this role offers an exceptional opportunity to work on a directly industry relevant project involving graphene coatings. This exciting opportunity will see you transform graphene technology research into real-word applications in the development of a recyclable new graphene-coated product with high commercialisation potential. Working in direct collaboration with industry, this role provides unique experience in translating lab research into a production-line product. Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to collaborate with leading researchers in the field of advanced materials. Based in the School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials at the University of Adelaide, North Terrace campus, you will work as part of a team to develop graphene-infused coating for a commercial market. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with a dynamic team of academics and postgraduate students all with expertise in graphene-based technologies. To be successful you will need: A PhD (or thesis submitted) in Chemistry, Chemical or Materials Engineering or a related discipline. Experience and demonstrated competence in graphene production, functionalisation and dispersion. Experience and demonstrated competence in characterising 2D materials using analytical instrumentation such as SEM, Raman spectroscopy, FTIR, Particle sizers, Contact angle measurement, Surface tension measurements, XRD, TGA/DSC. Demonstrated capacity to work to tight deadlines and communicate research concepts to a wide range of audiences including industry partners. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team, interact effectively with colleagues and external collaborators.
