Fixed-term, part-time (0.7 FTE), available for 2 years

Compensation Grade:
Higher Education Officer Level 3

Salary Range:
$58,257 – $63,069 pa pro-rata

Reporting to:
Simulated Learning Environment Senior Technical Officer

Under routine direction, the Simulated Learning Environment Technical Assistant will work as part of a team in the College of Medicine and Public Health (CMPH) Technical Services, to provide an efficient service and primarily support primarily the Medicine teaching program.

Key Position Responsibilities

The Simulated Learning Environment Technical Assistant will be accountable for:

Providing general assistance in the preparation, setting up and dismantling of specialised practical teaching and assessment education classes.
Assisting in maintaining a range of simulation equipment in good working order including its assembly, testing and repair to ensure it is clean and functional.
Assisting in hazard management procedures including the safe storage and maintenance of equipment
Assisting the coordination of Standardized Patients
Ordering and maintaining appropriate stock of medical equipment and consumables as needed for teaching activities
Providing support to maintain a register of consumables, equipment, and maintenance schedules
Provide administrative support including but not limited to reception, ordering, collecting, filing, collating documents.
Ability to work flexible working hours with the capacity to change as needs arise.
Any other responsibilities in line with the level of the role as assigned by the Supervisor and/or the University.

Key Position Capabilities

Completion of Year 12 or Certificate II with relevant work experience and/or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education and training.
Demonstrated experience with medical / paramedic / healthcare technical equipment.
Demonstrated capacity to deliver high-quality and effective customer service.
Demonstrated ability to set and prioritize workloads.
Demonstrated experience with stock management and ordering.
Proven ability to work under routine supervision.
Demonstrated effective skills using Microsoft Technologies
Proven ability to work within an administrative role
Sound to effective written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and liaise with staff, students and members of the public, including those from different cultural backgrounds.
Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health & Safety (WHS), in particular hazard management.
Demonstrated ability to use discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
