The position will provide an efficient, confidential admin support to the HR team by undertaking a broad range of administration duties, such as onboarding employees, HR Management System (HRMS) data entry, data reporting and much much more! The role can be quite fast-paced, so we are looking for someone who can work quickly, without losing the important high-level of attention to detail that is required in such a role. We are also looking for someone who highly values integrity and confidentiality, given the sensitive nature of the data you will be working with.The SAHMRI HR team are hard-working, but we also enjoy having a bit of fun and area always there to support each other. We are therefore looking for a dynamic, team player with a can-do, positive and flexible attitude, who can contribute to an enjoyable work environment. These attributes are really important to the culture of our team.Although the position is advertised at full-time, we are happy to negotiate part-time arrangements as part of our flexible working arrangements policy.About the RoleKey responsibilities include:Coordinate the on-boarding of new employeesDrafting Employment Agreements for checking by the relevant HR Business Partnersending new starter documentation to successful candidatesAssist the HR Business Partners with any routine documentation such as employment variation letters, salary increase letters, acknowledgement of resignation etc.Assist and coordinate new starter inductionsCoordination of SAHMRI’s DCSI screening process for new (and existing) employeesCoordinate the SAHMRI probationary processUpdate the HRMS with new starters with accuracy and in a timely mannerWork closely with the Payroll Specialist to ensure a timely and accurate information flow regarding new starters being input into the SAHMRI payroll systemUndertake compliance audits of documentation within the Human Resources Management System (HRMS)Act in a confidential capacity when handing external and internal enquiriesMonitor the HR Mailbox on a daily basis and ensure all queries are responded to and followed-up in a timely mannerAssist with the coordination of HR related events (including training, meetings, staff presentations)Assist with the implementation of action items within SAHMRI’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Workforce StrategyAbout YouThe successful candidate will possess the following key attributes:Tertiary qualifications in Business Administration or Human Resources Management desirable (or equivalent experience)At least two years experience in an administrative roleKnowledge and understanding of Human ResourcesHigh level of computer competency, with the ability to learn new systems quicklyExcellent attention to detail is imperativeAble to multi-task, problem solve and learn new tasks with easeStrong organisational skillsHighly ethical and confidentialSelf-driven, strong use of initiative and focused on continuous improvementExcellent interpersonal skills, and written and verbal communication skillsA high level of computer literacy with the ability to learn new systems quicklyA “can do”, customer-focussed and flexible attitude and demonstrated ability to work as part of a teamRequired to obtain a DCSI General Probity clearanceProof of Aboriginality will be required to be eligible for this positionEverything we do is underpinned by our core values and our institute is dedicated to grow a culture that pursues, enables and demands research excellence.
