You will work as part of a small team to create a range of smallgoods sold primarily in our Hill Street stores and under the Wursthaus brand.  You will enjoy a fast-paced role focusing on the highest standards of quality and hygiene, producing consistently high quality smallgoods within a well-equipped manufacturing facility.  Your day will involve:Producing a range of smallgoods including hams, terrines, pates, cured, smoked and dried products  Developing your expertise in all aspects of smallgoods productionCooking items which require skilful preparation with exceptional attention to detailManaging product storage to ensure wastage is minimised and recordedComplying with all food hygiene and HACCP requirementsCleaning and maintaining your workspace, tools and equipment in compliance with food safety and hygiene policy and standardsWorking with the packaging team to ensure accurate and safe packaging, labelling and storage of your products. About You … You will be an aspiring smallgoods maker keen to use your recent and relevant cook or chef training in a new way.  You must have a love of meat and appreciate fine cooked, cured, dried and smoked meats.  You must also be prepared and eager to participate in formal and informal training in the craft of smallgoods making.  You will enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of food professionals including chefs, cooks and butchers. Flexibility to work across our span of hours, including some weekends and public holidays, is also required.To succeed in this role you will need the following skills and experience:Recent relevant chef/cooking experience coupled with a keen interest in developing the art of smallgoods making (highly regarded)First Aid Certificate (essential)Food Safety Certificate (essential)Experience working in a food manufacturing environment under HACCP requirements (desirable)Basic computer literacy to learn and apply new systems accurately and efficiently. Demonstrated excellence and proficiency in written and verbal English and strong interpersonal skills.
