Job DescriptionBenefitsGladstone locationGreat opportunity to work in a fantastic team Full-time opportunityThe OpportunityAn exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Laboratory Technician/ Foreman to join our Gladstone Laboratory team.You’ll be accountable forThe successful candidate will be responsible for:Daily coordination of laboratory staff and plant requirements, including engaging, training and developing laboratory techniciansPerforming compliance laboratory testing for samples of soil, aggregate and asphaltDesigning and performing laboratory testing for mix designs/ blends to required specificationsUnderstanding test methods, procedures and specificationsMaintaining a high level of internal and external customer/ stakeholder communication and relationsWhat we need from youThe successful candidate will require a high level of competence and experience in construction laboratories including, but not limited to:Tertiary qualification in Laboratory TechnologyMaintaining a NATA accredited laboratoryUnderstanding of TMR specifications and requirementsAsphalt & mix design experienceProduction testing as well as onsite samplingProviding technical support to production departmentsSound knowledge of Queensland test methods and Australian standards for laboratoriesA keen eye for detailProficiency in the Microsoft Office SuiteKnowledge in the QESTLab LIMS software programGood communication skillsHonest, confident and reliableThe successful applicant must have experience and knowledge in construction laboratories (asphalt, aggregates and binders) and have attained NATA signatory status for test methods.This is a full-time position and the successful applicant and will be paid in accordance with the 2017 Queensland Industries EBA.
