Eligibility: Open to Everyone Summary of RoleThe creation of theState-wide Curriculum Resources (Scope and Sequences, Units of Work& Curriculum Planning Guide) have thrown a clear focus on thekey strategies necessary for highly effective curriculumimplementation. These strategies connect whole schoolimplementation, change leadership, quality assurance and impactevaluation processes, to support consistently high quality practiceacross every classroom and every school. The Curriculum Resourcesalso help strengthen the links between the planning andimplementation of a content rich, standards-referenced curriculumand schools’ improvement priorities in reading, writing andnumeracy. To support Education Directors and Portfolios to align resourcesin joined-up ways that result in high quality curriculumimplementation, the Curriculum Lead will apply their curriculumleadership knowledge and skills with their change management andquality improvement experiences to: Provide Principals and leadership teams with strategic support on the analysis of their capacity to implement the Curriculum Resources, in order to guide planning and underpin effective implementation approaches at the whole-school, year level and classroom level, while helping to coordinate relevant resources. Provide support to Principals and leadership teams to ensure the effective application of change management, quality assurance and impact evaluation strategies, particularly founded upon instructional leadership principles, to embed relevant Curriculum Resources into ongoing school processes and quality classroom practices over time. Work with leadership teams to establish and co-lead effective professional learning teams and practitioner networks within and across schools (including the use of coaching approaches and moderation processes as required) to build teachers’ capacities and confidence within a content rich standards-referenced curriculum, particularly relating to: translating Scope and Sequences and Units of Work into classroom programs; setting and articulating clear learning goals and success criteria; applying high quality and consistent judgements on student achievement for the accurate attribution of A-E grades, and providing clear formative and summative feedback to learners. Provide strategic support for Principals and leadership teams to apply high quality curriculum planning processes that effectively connect a rigorous, content rich curriculum with the school’s literacy and numeracy improvement priorities (tied to the school improvement planning cycle) for measurable changes in teachers’ classroom practice and student outcomes. Support the processes of triangulating standards-referenced achievement data (A-E grades) with other quantitative data sets to build cohesive and strategic approaches that demonstrably impact on teachers’ classroom practice and judgements while further enhancing students achievement in measurable ways. Support leadership strategies that will strengthen the continuity of teaching and learning within relevant scope and sequences R-10 and particularly across the primary and secondary transition point as well as the Preschool to Reception transition point. Special ConditionsThe successful applicantis required to gain a Department of Human Resources (DHS) workingwith children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which isrequired to be renewed every five (5) years before expiry. Acurrent DHS child-related employment screening will be recognisedas a WWCC until it expires. The successful applicantwill be required to undertake Responding to Abuse and Neglect (RAN)full day/online training course every three years.
