>Parkes ACTThe Digital Publishing Manager ensures content offered on National Archives of Australia digital platforms is user-centred, effective and standards-compliant. In line with DTA priorities, we want to offer digital services that are simple, clear and fast as we work toward our vision of being a world-leading archive in this digital age. The Digital Publishing Manager will be responsible, under limited supervision, for managing the content of our websites and other digital platforms. You will create, curate, organise, layout, evaluate, review and continuously improve digital content to meet user and business needs. You’ll take the lead in collaborating across the agency to develop content that meets best practice publishing guidelines, and provide input to both front-end and back-end applications.This role supervises a small team and requires the ability to be responsive, adaptable and resourceful within a busy section. Key skills include a deep knowledge of and facility with online publishing concepts, methodologies and tools, excellent language and web writing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to help them align with best practice in user-centred web content and digital service delivery.The key duties of the position include:Under limited direction the main duties of the role are to:Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand and continuously improve website functions, content and the user experience.Guide and deliver the writing, revision and restructuring of content as needed to align with user-centred, easy to navigate information architectures.Monitor website traffic, user journeys and content quality to develop reports and provide recommendations for improving the user experience and website performance.Supervise a small team of Online Content Officers to manage content development and approval processes, maintain quality assurance standards, and ensure compliance with legislation and policy.Prepare and deliver training to National Archives staff in writing user-centred, plain English content, and content development and approval processes.Apply the principles of APS Values, Code of Conduct, workplace diversity, work health and safety and participative management within a work and team environment.Promote and apply the National Archives’ Vision, Mission and Commitments as expressed in The Archives Way.Desirable experience:Experience with online publishing tools and technology, including: CMS environments, preferably in Drupal, applying SEO best practice, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation as part of the content lifecycle. Experience in online publishing methodologies, procedures and practices, including applying quality UX to page content and ensuring accessibility and inclusivity. Demonstrated advanced written communication skills including plain English writing, editing, proofreading, and shaping key messages and themes.EligibilityEligibility: Applicants must be Australian citizens and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to Baseline.How to apply: Applications must be submitted via our online e-recruitment system.
