We are looking for experienced Food Services Assistants to join our residential care team at The Pines Lodge located in North Plympton.About the roleTo work as part of a cohesive team by undertaking general catering duties for the provision of high quality catering services. Work in a safe and inclusive manner that reflect Southern Cross Care’s Better for Life model to provide person centred care and support.Within the guidelines provided by nursing staff, support each resident’s independence and self determination to make their own choices, including taking some risk, to enable them to live as well as they can.For further details regarding the scope of the role, please refer to the attached position description.About youPrevious experience in a food handling role is essential. Must have current drivers licence and be flexible to work weekends and public holidays as required.Adequate communication skills with a level of English literacy to speak in a manner that older people can understand and to be able to read written instructions. Time management to manage own workload, without direct supervision, to complete tasks within the allocated time. Basic understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours and also basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards will be highly regarded. All Southern Cross Care employees also require a current National Police Certificate for the Purpose of Aged Care.About this opportunityThis is a rare opportunity to join a dynamic, not-for-profit organisation and help create a better future for you and your community.You will enjoy exceptional learning and development opportunities, and salary packaging benefits that will help you to maximise your take-home pay.
